Hecele
A gamified reading support app for primary school children at risk of dyslexia.
Hecele is a mobile app that measures the reading skills of children aged 6-10 through games and notices early signals of dyslexia risk. Through short tasks prepared by expert educators, the app tracks the child's sound-letter matching, syllable splitting and fluent reading level.
For parents and teachers
The parent dashboard gives a weekly progress report, while the teacher dashboard offers a class-level summary. The app does not make a medical diagnosis; when a risk signal appears it refers the family to a specialist.
At Çimlen
Hecele joined the Tohum pre-incubation programme in the Spring 2025 cohort. In six months it built a prototype, ran pilots in three primary schools and received a grant from an education foundation. It is now preparing a Filiz application.
Next step
The Hecele team is starting a scientific validity study with a university special education department; the results will show the app's reliability as an early screening tool. As a Çimlen alumnus it keeps access to community events and the mentor network.
