Sulayık

An agri-IoT startup that automates drip irrigation with soil moisture sensors.

Sulayık developed low-cost sensors that measure soil moisture, temperature and salinity for field and orchard farmers, together with an irrigation controller that opens and closes valves according to that data. Farmers see the state of each parcel in the phone app and can change the irrigation schedule.

Impact

In pilot fields in Konya and Karaman, water use fell by an average of 38% over the season, while yield rose 9% because irrigation stress decreased. The product is sold in instalments through cooperatives.

At Çimlen

Sulayık joined the Filiz programme in the Autumn 2023 cohort. During the programme it changed its pricing model from device sales to an annual subscription and device rental; after Demo Day it closed a round led by an agriculture-focused fund.

Next step

Over the next two years the company plans to expand beyond Central Anatolia into greenhouse regions of the Aegean and Mediterranean and to share irrigation data with insurers to lower drought insurance premiums. As a Çimlen alumnus it keeps access to community events and the mentor network.
