Rumenbiyo
A biotechnology startup developing a probiotic feed additive that improves dairy cow yield.
Rumenbiyo developed a domestic probiotic feed additive that supports the microbiome balance in the cow's rumen. By improving digestion the product aims to raise milk yield and milk fat ratio. Because the additive is made with strains produced in Turkey, its cost is lower than imported products.
Field trials
In controlled trials at three large farms, an average 6.5% increase in daily milk yield was measured against the control group. The results are being verified by an independent veterinary faculty laboratory.
At Çimlen
The team, an Autumn 2024 Filiz graduate, planned the product registration and licensing process with legal mentors and built a distributor model with feed mills during the programme. With grant and angel funding it set up a production line.
Next step
The team has started testing a second formulation for small ruminants and working with an export mentor to introduce the product to Middle Eastern markets. As a Çimlen alumnus it keeps access to community events and the mentor network.
