Yolcubir
A mobile app that plans accessible public transport and walking routes for people with disabilities.
Yolcubir is an app that suggests routes for users with wheelchairs or sight or mobility limitations, taking into account stops with lifts, low-floor vehicles, pavement gradients and obstacles. Data is compiled from municipalities, user reports and satellite imagery.
Community power
Users report obstacles such as broken lifts or damaged pavements with a photo; reports are placed on the map once verified. In Izmir there are 2,400 users and 380 verified obstacle reports.
At Çimlen
The team, in the Autumn 2025 Tohum programme, is negotiating data-sharing protocols with municipalities and collaboration with public transport authorities. The goal is to move to Filiz and open in five metropolitan cities.
Next step
The team is preparing its Filiz application for the next cohort; its goals are to sign formal data protocols with three municipalities and reach 10,000 users. As a Çimlen alumnus it keeps access to community events and the mentor network.
